Trio “Varnenski ritam”
Varnenski ritam” is a formation to present authentic Bulgarian dance music from all regions of Bulgaria. The formation includes Dragni Dragnev (Jura and Rodopa bagpipes, pipe, keyboard instruments, drum), Petya Dragneva (singer, tambura), Lasko Laskov (accordion, clavier, drum).
The goal of the musicians is to preserve and recreate the authentic sound of Bulgarian national music, as it was played in working-bees, and round dances in town squares and celebrations.

Dragni Dragnev
Teacher of Jura and Kaba bagpipe in the National Secondary School of Humanitarian Sciences and Arts, “Konstantin Preslavski”, city of Varna, since 2001. He graduated from the secondary school of music “Orpheus”, village Shiroka Laka, in 1994. He continued his education at the academy for Musical and Dance Arts, performing as a soloist in the representational orchestra of the Academy (1994 – 1998).
Over the years, Dragni Dragnev has participated in numerous musical projects, seminars, recordings and tours in Europe . He has played with famous musicians, such as Anatoli Vapirov (saxophone), Petar Ralchev (accordion), Sandy Lopicic.

Petya Dragneva
Teacher of folk singing and conductor of the children’s folk choir in the National Secondary School for Humanitarian Sciences and Arts “Konstantin Preslavski”, city of Varna, since 2001. She has graduated Secondary Musical School in the town of Pleven, with major folk singing and tambura. She continued her education in the Academy for Musical and Dance Arts – city of Plovdiv, with the major: “Teacher and performer – folk singing and tambura, and conducting a folk choir and orchestra”.
From 1997 to 2000, she performed in the choir, “Bulgarian Voices – the Angels”, in the city of Sofia, where she performed in numerous concerts domestically in Europe.
She has worked in the Ritual Center of the Municipal company “Obredi”, city of Varna, as a choir conductor.

Lasko Laskov
Accompanist in the National Secondary School for Humanitarian Sciences and Arts, “Konstantin Preslavski”, city of Varna.
Hereditary musician, Lasko Laskov is one of the most popular accordionists in the district of Varna. He started studying music when he was 10 years old, in the National School of Arts, “Dobri Hristov” – city of Varna. His major study was “Percussion Instruments”. Simultaneously, he intensively studied folk and keyboard instruments. He currently continues his education in Shumen University “Bishop Konstantin Preslavski” – majoring in “Pedagogy of Musical Education”.
His professional curriculum vitae as a musician started in the Ensemble, “Gotse Delchev”, city of Varna – Macedonian House, with Director, Georgi Manovski. He also performed as an instrumentalist in a folklore ensemble directed by Stefan Dimitrov. Later he was an accompanist in the Ensemble of the Municipal People’s Council – city of Varna, with choreographer Belcho Stanev. He has participated as an instrumentalist in a series of concerts domestically and abroad.
